Some highlights of the consultation include discussion on the challenges faced by the Indian Malaysians, the strengths of the community and how to foster partnerships in order to maximize the effectiveness of available resources. A special session focused on identifying the ways forward in empowering the Indian Malaysian women.
The consultation was part of the Project’s participatory approach in getting the input and commitment from the communities themselves. Proceedings from the session will be disseminated and policy recommendations drawn from suggestions and issues raised in the Consultation and a memorandum to be submitted to the relevant government agency and the Malaysian Indian Congress Party.
