Posted: 16 July 2006
Minister of Transport and Deputy MCA President YB Dato’ Seri Chan Kong Choy and the FNF Project Director Rainer Heufers were among the guests invited by the Young Malaysians Movement to join the opening session of their 34th AGM.
During the opening of the 34th AGM, Minister of Transport and Deputy MCA President YB Dato’ Seri Chan Kong Choy stated the importance of education for positioning Malaysia in an increased global competition. YMM President Ng Chin Long expressed the commitment and capacities of the Young Malaysians Movement to support this effort.
In its constitution, the Young Malaysians Movement stipulates that it is a non-political organisation. It is neither affiliated to any of the political parties nor involves itself in any of their activities. Instead, it confines the activities of its 128.500 members of the age between 15 and 40 years to the realm of education in political issues.
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation has recently awarded YMM a prize for their entry in the YSPE competition. The award will support the efforts of YMM to encourage weblogs among the Malaysian youth.
