Zainah Anwar nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation congratulates Ms. Zainah Anwar, the co-founder and Executive Director of Sisters in Islam, who has recently been nominated for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize among other 1,000 women from 153 countries. The ‘1,000 Women for Nobel Peace Prize 2005 Campaign’ by the Swiss Peace Foundation aims at providing a platform for women from the grassroots to highlight their peace efforts. Sisters in Islam is an NGO on a mission to promote women’s rights within Islam and has been closely associated with the foundation for many years.
