Discussion: The Power of Dialogue
Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, Egyptian expert for Islamic studies and literature makes the point that newer forms of dialogue must be developed with the Islamic world. In this case what should be emphasized is more forums for dialogue, for a bona fide exchange of views rather than a condemnation of others ideas or beliefs. Importantly this should be a dialogue that seeks to connect with representatives of moderate political Islam as well as the "silent majority" of the Islamic world.
