FNF Hosts Free Market Seminar in Berlin

Ms. Indrani Thuraisingham, Secretary General of ERA Consumers Malaysia, attended this meeting in Berlin, Germany, between November 14 and 16, 2003.

In her presentation on “Women and Globalisation in the Developing World”, she argued that the main feature of lobalisation is the primary role given to the market, which determines how goods and services are produced and distributed. She argued that women should be integrated into the globalisation process to profit from the sweeping changes that are currently taking place.

On November 16, 2003, all participants were invited to the matinee “Free Trade in Danger?” on current issues of political and economic development. The event was co-hosted by the FNF and the GTZ, and it took place at Potsdamer Platz in the heart of Berlin.
