YSPE Competition Results

Posted 06 June 2006

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation has awarded the prizes of its Young Socio-Political Entrepreneur project competition to the Chinese and Malay Bloggers.

  1. Young Malaysians Movement
  2. Blog Bugs by Group of Bloggers

We reckon that in this information age the new phenomena of blogging can offer an alternative to traditional channels of political communication in Malaysia. Blogging has the tendency to becoming more relevant in democratic space as it has the potential to influence on political thought and debate. It also provides an opportunity for alternative informal voices to enter into the political sphere, a socio-political cyberspace to express themselves responsibly freely in the e-society.

An update on the activities of the two awarded projects mentioned above will be published on this website in late June.

FNF would like to thank the other three short-listed candidates for their creativities and efforts put into the projects.
