What is the role of blogging in today’s communication

“The workshop titled “What is the role of blogging in today’s communication” was held in the AV Auditorium of Zhong Hua Chinese Independence School in Kelantan in the afternoon of 5th August 2007.

We met with the principal before the workshop and he told us that the students do not have ready access to the Internet, but they are ready to embrace blogging as a platform of self expression.

About 30 students from different levels attended the workshop, most of the students were from arts and design classes.

Jeremiah Foo walked through the benefits of blogging while Youzi Lau, TC Gan and Kuan shared their blogging experiences.

When it came to the hands on session, we created 2 blogs with wordpress and blogspot for the students.

They both promised to update the sites frequently.

In conclusion, internet access may be a hurdle in small towns and remote areas, but with proper training and inspirations, students can be motivated to write and blog about issues and events surrounding them.
